Island cardigan is a bohemian-style influenced knitwear. This oversized garment features short front & long back, large lace stitch mixed with textured stitches, playful loops, narrow button band and wide ribbing edges.
 
Island cardigan is worked from top down in mixed pattern stitch in one piece.

The cardigan is intended for an oversized fitting with approx. 20-35 cm [7.9-13.8 inches] of positive ease, meaning it is designed to be about 20-35 cm [7.9-13.8 inches] larger in circumference than your bust measurement. 
For which size to choose can be varies from person to person. It would be a good idea to measure some of your favorite fitting clothes to help you find out how much positive ease you tend to like. Then, pick the size accordingly. 
 
Photo demonstrates a typical XS/S with bust circumference (or around your widest part of your upper body) of 88 cm [34.6 inches] wearing a size 1. The look is going for a 29 cm [11.4 inches] positive ease.
